Nature and local wildlife
Nature is part of everyday life at Las Estrellas. Tropical birds, hummingbirds, howler monkeys, iguanas and lush vegetation surround the lodge in the hills above Sámara.
At sunrise, birdsong fills the air as the first light reaches the Pacific, while howler monkeys may sometimes be heard or seen in the nearby trees. Iguanas and many other species also thrive in this natural setting.
Some wildlife can be observed directly from the lodge, from the terraces, gardens and shared spaces, while other encounters may happen during hikes, boat trips or guided excursions in the area.
Wildlife remains free and unpredictable, so sightings can never be guaranteed — but every stay offers countless opportunities to connect with the remarkable biodiversity of Guanacaste.
