How far is Las Estrellas from Sámara?

Las Estrellas is located in the peaceful hills above Sámara, around 12 minutes by car from the beach and village center.

OUR TIP

Use Waze and search for ‘Lodge Las Estrellas de Sámara’. The final part of the road is unpaved and hilly, so allow a little extra time for your first arrival.

Do I need a 4x4?

A 4x4 is recommended, especially during the rainy season. A high-clearance SUV is also a good option.

OUR TIP

If you are renting a car for your Costa Rica trip, choosing a vehicle with good ground clearance will also make exploring rural Guanacaste much easier.

Which airport is closest?

Liberia International Airport is generally the most convenient airport for reaching Sámara and Guanacaste. San José International Airport is also an option, particularly if Sámara is part of a longer Costa Rica itinerary.

Can you arrange airport transfers?

Yes. We can help organize private transfers to and from the lodge.

Is breakfast included?

Breakfast is available at the lodge and can be reserved in advance.

OUR TIP: We recommend reserving breakfast the day before, particularly if you have an early activity planned.

Do you have Wi-Fi?

Yes. High-speed Starlink Wi-Fi is available at the lodge and is suitable for everyday use, remote work and video calls.

Can children stay at Las Estrellas?

Las Estrellas welcomes guests aged 10 and over. The lodge is designed around tranquility, nature and peaceful shared spaces, which is why we have chosen this age policy.

Is parking available?

Yes. Free parking is available at the lodge.

Can I cook at the lodge?

Yes. Guests have access to the shared kitchen.

OUR TIP: Sámara has supermarkets, bakeries and local stores where you can easily buy groceries before returning to the lodge.

Where can we eat?

Most restaurants, cafés and shops are located in Sámara, around 12 minutes away by car. Meals are also available at Las Estrellas depending on the services offered during the stay.

Reservations & Cancellations

Cancellation and modification conditions depend on the rate and booking conditions confirmed at the time of reservation.
Please refer to your booking confirmation for the conditions applicable to your stay.
In the event of an early departure, unused nights may remain chargeable according to the conditions of the reservation.

Check-in & Check-out

Check-in is available from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Please let us know your approximate arrival time in advance.
Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and may incur an additional charge.
Check-out before 11:00 AM.

Payment

Rates, applicable taxes and payment conditions are communicated before confirmation of the reservation.
Any specific payment conditions or differences between payment methods will be clearly communicated before payment.

Children

Las Estrellas welcomes guests aged 10 and over.
Children under 10 years old cannot stay at the lodge.

Pets

Pets are not accepted at Las Estrellas.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted inside the accommodations or enclosed shared areas.
Please smoke only in appropriate outdoor areas and be considerate of other guests.

Quiet Hours & Parties

Las Estrellas is designed as a peaceful place to stay.
Parties, events, loud music and excessive noise are not permitted unless previously agreed with the lodge.
Guests are asked to respect the tranquility of the property and other guests at all times.

Occupancy & Visitors

Only registered guests may stay overnight at the lodge.
Additional visitors must be approved by Las Estrellas in advance.
The maximum occupancy of each accommodation must be respected.

Respect for the Property

Guests are expected to take reasonable care of the accommodations, furniture, equipment and shared areas.
Damage caused intentionally or through negligence may be charged at the reasonable cost of repair or replacement.

Pool & Shared Areas

Guests are asked to use the swimming pool (8:00 AM to 8:00 PM), shared kitchen and common areas responsibly and respectfully.
Please respect other guests and leave shared spaces clean after use.

Activities

Activities and excursions arranged through Las Estrellas may be operated by independent local providers.
These activities are subject to the provider’s own conditions, availability and safety requirements.
Las Estrellas can assist guests with recommendations and reservations but does not guarantee wildlife sightings, weather conditions or activity availability.
